Equipment and Materials
How to make Christmas Wishing Bags
Download and print the Adhesive Felt Christmas Templates. Place your adhesive felt sheet on your working table. The felt sheets come in A4 sizes and are ready to use. They have a felt side and a paper side.
Trace around your favorite star from the Christmas Template on the back of the adhesive felt sheet. (paper side) Cut around it.
Peel paper backing and stick star to the hessian bag.
Using a little drop of fabric glue stick the little white pom pom in the middle of your star.
Fill the Christmas Wishing Bag with a little wishing label and get the kids to write a wish. Place the Wishing bag on the Christmas Tree! I love using these little wooden pegs to hang the wishing bags somewhere on the tree.
Options for making the wishing labels:
- Use chalkboard labels and chalkboard pens
- Download the Printable Christmas Wish labels (available in my FREE RESOURCE LIBRARY) . View post here.
This is another ideas of a wishing bag using the little Christmas Tree Felt Template. In this case I cut the little Christmas tree in the adhesive felt. I also cut a little bit of ribbon which was folded and then I stuck it to the bag to hold the ribbon in place 🙂
How to make Christmas Gift Tags
I will now show you how to use the Adhesive Felt Chriatmas Printable Templates to create beautiful and unique gift tags so that you and your kids can wrap Christmas presents in an unique way 🙂
Gather the plain gift tags. For this tutorial I have used 3 different types because I wanted to create several styles to have variety of gifts in my Christmas tree.
Trace around the angel, the Christmas tree, the stars, make sure you trace a variety of all the templates in the Christmas printable.
Cut around it. Peel the adhesive paper backing and stick to the labels. Play around positioning the adhesive felt in different positions within the label to create some xtra interest.
Once you have placed your adhesive felt shapes in the labels choose a variety of your Christmas ribbons. Cut your chosen ribbons into 7 inches strips.
You can also use natural string.
Now get the kids involved in writing little Christmas messages for your loved ones.
How to use the adhesive felt templates to make Christmas gift wrapping
As shown above you can create these beautiful and unique gift tags and Christmas Wishing bags. I would normally add the Christmas wishing bags as part of my gifts but rather than inserting a Christmas wish label or tag I simply insert a Christmas card, lollipops, candy, a cookie or some candy canes. Whenever I do this my gifts are super popular!!!!!
So let me show you how to do it!
Gather wrapping paper (make sure its plain paper), Christmas ribbons, the adhesive felt sheet, pom poms and the Christmas Printable Templates from the Free Resource Library.
Trace and cut the biggest star from the Christmas Printable template. Using a solid color wrapping paper wrap your present. Choose one of your Christmas ribbons and tie it around the wrapped present. But a strip of a contrasting Christmas ribbon of about 7 or 8 inches. Fold it in half.
Peel off the paper backing from the felt star and stick it so that its holding both ribbons in place as shown in illustration below. This is so simple yet so effective!
Another idea is to trace and cut the felt Christmas tree from the Christmas Printable Template. Wrap the present in a solid color and tie a contrasting Christmas ribbon so that it has a cross in the upper middle of the present.
Cut another contrasting ribbon (in this case is the red one) and tie a bow around the green ribbon cross area.
Peel off the paper backing from the Christmas tree and stick it so that its holding part of the green ribbon. Using fabric glue stick the pom poms on the Christmas tree. Very effective as well!
You can also play around with the Christmas stockings that are part of the Printable Christmas Template. Stick the Christmas stockings on your present and then decorate the stockings by gluing little ribbons on it as shown in photo below.
I also like to include a wooden peg as part of the wrapping 🙂
I hope you like all these ideas and that you spend a few magic days preparing your home for a magical Christmas!
