Discover the beautiful DIY fashion creations made by our talented students.
In this page I want to feature some of the lovely Creative Mamas who are students inside our Minimal Waste Sewing Courses and DIY Sustainable Fashionista Society!!!!! Inside our courses and membership, we provide the tools, skills, and techniques—but it’s our students who bring each project to life with their own design, intention, and personal touch

Introducing Toni
Toni works with amazing vintage kantha quilts and fabrics. She has repurposed this beautiful kantha piece to create the most unique kimono inspired top! Check out her creative work here and her Etsy store!

“Your tutorials where so easy to understand. Fully recommend this course! This is my boho kimono made from vintage KANTHA. Also there is a matching crossbody bag. Super fun. Videos are wonderful.” — Toni – from: yummy linen

Introducing Elia

“Hi Victoria. I finished my kimono! Thanks for inspiring me to sew this comfortable piece. I will be making another kimono soon. It is a great layering garment! Thanks for creating this pattern and course!” – Elia

Introducing Angelique
Angelique is an experienced quilter and very creative lady! She creates the most beautiful custom made kimonos in which she combines minimal waste sewing techniques with her creative skills to create one of a kind fashion items. You can check out her work (which is for sale) here!

“This is a great pattern for a beginner sewer because they made every step easy to follow. The pattern was very easy to understand, and is very adaptable. I added pockets to mine and cut out the XL—it fits perfectly.
There were so many videos taking you through every step, how to print out the pattern, assemble the pieces, and sew the kimono top. Sustainability is very important to me because as quilters and sewers, we create a lot of scraps and waste. — Angelique – from mojoquiltsandmore

Introducing Elisha

“I am so happy with my top! In the past I have only done small alterations and fixes, I never thought I’d have the confidence or skill to make something from scratch or even make noticeable changes to my clothing.
This pattern was so easy to follow and gave me the confidence to try make other things, I’m now super excited to see what else I could make!” – Elisha

Introducing Claire
Claire has created a very unique version of the Sunflower Top by using her own handmade quilted fabrics. She used this Kimono inspired pattern as a canvas to express her creativity and have fun! You can see more of her creative work here

“My experience of the course has been great! I have never followed a tutorial before or made a garment from beginning to end using a pattern. I watched all the videos first, then printed out the pattern. It was really easy following your instructions.
Even adding my own dyed fabric and patch pocket was made simple. I loved it so much that I have now ordered new fabric, so I can make another one. I would happily buy another pattern from you. Thank you!
PS: I also made this one (a chose a larger size) using my own artwork fabric and made it longer.— Claire

Introducing Lucy
Lucy started this top by creating the gorgeous naturally dyed pattern (in a variety of ways) and then used the Sunflower Minimal Waste Pattern to create this beautiful kimono inspired top! Just gorgeous!!!!
You can check out her beautiful work here!

“The course was very well done. Super easy to follow along with the videos and written content. I loved using the design workbook too. I would highly recommend any of Victorias classes. I had some challenges with the hemp fabric as it would stretch while I was sewing it. I try to be as sustainable as possible so I cut this fabric from a hemp sheet set! The bonus sections were great on making patch pockets and even steps on how to lengthen or shorten the kimono.” — Lucy – from tallcactusstudio

Introducing Gloria
Gloria is a very creative and talented lady who sews for the joy and pleasure of it. Check out her different versions of the Sunflower Minimal waste Top Pattern! I love them all!

“The process of getting the pattern downloaded, printed, laid out and taped together was smoother than I expected. Video tutorials with sewing instructions were clear and well demonstrated, easier than expected! I have done three tops so far!” Gloria
