1. Who we are
These terms apply to the Natural Color Science subscription (“the Subscription”), sold and operated by La Creative Mama (“we”, “us”, “our”), lacreativemama.com. You can reach us at help@lacreativemama.com
These Subscription Terms sit alongside our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. By purchasing a Subscription you agree to all three.
2. What the Subscription includes
The Subscription gives you access to a sequential program of classroom-ready natural color science lessons. Each lesson pack includes teacher notes and science background, a hands-on demonstration guide, a printable student worksheet structured around the scientific method, a swatch record page, presentation slides, a four-level assessment rubric, report card comments, a glossary, and a STEM curriculum connections page.
Lesson content, materials lists and supporting resources are described on the sales page at the time of purchase. We may improve, update or replace individual lessons and resources over time.
3. Plans, pricing and billing
We currently offer two plans. The current price of each plan is shown on the sales page and at checkout, and is the price that applies to your purchase:
- Monthly — billed every month until you cancel.
- Annual — billed every 12 months until you cancel.
All prices are in USD. Payment is taken through our checkout provider and its payment processor. We do not store your card details.
By subscribing you authorize us to charge your payment method automatically on each renewal date until you cancel. If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend or cancel your access if it remains unpaid.
We may change subscription pricing. Existing subscribers will be given at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change takes effect on their plan, and may cancel before the new price applies.
4. How and when lessons are released
Lessons are released in sequence. Each lesson builds on the one before it, so the order is deliberate.
- Monthly plan: one new lesson is released to you each month, in order, for as long as your Subscription remains active.
- Annual plan: the full lesson library unlocks 16 days after your purchase date.
Release timing depends on your payment being received and your account remaining in good standing. We aim to release lessons on schedule but do not guarantee a specific release date for any individual lesson.
5. Your account and access
Your login is personal to you. You may not share your login details, and you may not allow another person to access the Subscription using your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts where login sharing occurs.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that takes place under your account.
6. License to use the materials
What you may do. Your Subscription grants one teacher a non-exclusive, non-transferable license for single-classroom use. You may:
- download, print and photocopy the student worksheets, swatch record pages and glossaries for the students you personally teach;
- display the presentation slides and teacher materials in your own classroom;
- use the materials across your own classes, in successive years, for as long as your Subscription is active;
- keep and use materials you downloaded while your Subscription was active, subject to section 8.
What you may not do. You may not:
- share your login, files or downloads with other teachers, with teaching assistants outside your own classroom, with schools, or with anyone else;
- upload the materials to a shared drive, staff intranet, learning management system, cloud folder or website where people outside your own classes can access them;
- distribute the materials to students or parents in editable or digital form beyond what is needed for the lesson;
- sell, license, sublicense or otherwise commercially exploit the materials, in whole or in part;
- use the materials to run paid workshops, courses, camps or clubs outside the school classroom setting covered by your Subscription, without a separate license from us;
- modify, adapt or create derivative works for distribution, or remove any copyright or branding;
- use the materials to train, fine-tune or ground any artificial intelligence or machine learning system.
Schools and departments. Whole-school, department and multi-teacher licenses are available. If more than one teacher at your school will use the materials, please contact us at help@lacreativemama.com for licensing before sharing anything.
7. Intellectual property
All lesson content, text, images, worksheets, slides, rubrics and other materials in the Subscription remain our intellectual property or that of our licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you. Your license ends if your Subscription ends or if you breach section 6.
8. Cancellation
You may cancel at any time from the link in your purchase receipt, from your account dashboard, or by emailing help@lacreativemama.com
Cancellation stops future billing. It does not refund payments already made. Your access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and ends at that point — including access to lessons already released to you.
Materials you have already downloaded and printed remain yours to use with your own students under the license in section 6. Because online access ends with your Subscription, we recommend downloading each lesson as it is released.
We may cancel or suspend your Subscription if you breach these terms, if payment fails, or if we discontinue the Subscription (see section 10).
9. Refunds
Because the Subscription gives immediate access to digital content, payments already made are non-refundable, including partial months on the monthly plan. You can cancel at any time to stop future payments.
Annual subscriptions: Requests for a refund must be submitted within the first 14 days of your subscription and we’ll refund your annual fee less the first month.
Nothing in this section limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded. If something goes wrong — you cannot access a lesson, a file is corrupted, you were charged in error — email us at help@lacreativemama.com and we will put it right.
10. Changes to the Subscription
We may update, improve, replace or withdraw individual lessons and resources, and we may change the platform the Subscription is delivered on. We will not materially reduce what your plan includes during a billing period you have already paid for.
If we discontinue the Subscription entirely, we will give you reasonable notice by email and will not charge you for any renewal after that notice.
11. Safety, supervision and risk
The lessons involve practical classroom activities that may include heat, hot water, kitchen scales, soap, plant materials, dye materials and mordant powders such as alum and cream of tartar. Some lessons include a teacher demonstration involving a flame.
You are responsible for safety. The materials include written safety notices, but the risk assessment, supervision, and compliance with your school’s health and safety policies remain entirely with you and your school. By using the materials you confirm that:
- you will read the safety notices in full before teaching a lesson;
- you will carry out your own risk assessment in line with your school’s policies;
- you will supervise all activities and follow the teacher-only handling instructions where given;
- you will check for student allergies and sensitivities before any activity involving plant material, soap or dye;
- you will handle, store and dispose of materials in line with local regulations and product safety data.
We are not responsible for injury, damage or loss arising from classroom activities, substitution of materials, or failure to follow the safety guidance provided.
12. Curriculum mapping
The STEM curriculum connections provided are a planning aid, offered in good faith as a general guide. Curricula differ by country, state and school. You remain responsible for confirming that a lesson meets the requirements of your own curriculum, school and assessment framework.
13. Results
We do not guarantee particular educational outcomes, assessment results, or dyeing results. Natural color varies with plant material, water, fiber and technique — that variability is part of the science.
14. Communications
When you subscribe we will email you about your account, billing, lesson releases and support. These are service communications and you cannot opt out of them while your Subscription is active. Marketing emails are separate and you can unsubscribe from those at any time.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with the Subscription is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under [the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986 / applicable consumer law]. Where you acquire the Subscription for the purposes of a business, the consumer guarantees legislation [does not apply / applies as modified].
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Subscription Terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page with the date it was last updated. If we make a material change, we will notify active subscribers by email. Continuing your Subscription after a change means you accept the updated terms.
